Screamboat 2025 is a wild mix of cartoon nostalgia and classic slasher horror. The movie takes place on a fog-covered Staten Island ferry, where passengers find themselves hunted by a creepy rodent killer named Screamboat Willie. This strange villain is clearly inspired by old-school cartoons but is twisted into a violent and chaotic force. Right from the start, the film leans into its weird setup and doesn’t try to be serious. That’s what makes it fun. The visuals are impressive, with dark lighting, good camera work, and eerie fog making the boat feel claustrophobic. While the characters follow typical horror movie roles—the party girls, the scared survivors, the old man who knows the truth—the over-the-top kills and fast pacing keep the story moving. The sound effects are especially good, making each scary moment feel more intense. Although it may not be deep or emotional, Screamboat stands out because it’s so different. It doesn’t want to be Oscar-worthy—it just wants to entertain, and it mostly succeeds.
