The sequel Bad Santa is directed by Mark Waters, known for films like Mean Girls and Vampire Academy , with a script signing Johnny Rosenthal, Shauna Cross and Doug Ellin. Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox  and Brett Kelly in their lead roles are confirmed. In addition, they join cast Kathy Bates playing the rude mother of the character of Willie Soke and Christina Hendricks as a woman who runs a charity.
